Film Review BloodRayne II: Deliverance 18+ Vampire Lady Loses Her Grip: Is the Long-Awaited Sequel Worth Watching?

The wait for the sequel lasted several centuries—at least, that's how much time passed within the movie's plot. Unfortunately, our favorite vampire woman returned to the screen in less than ideal form: her signature agility and grace had all but vanished. One gets the impression that over the centuries, she allowed herself to slack off and stopped honing her skills.

The main villain also leaves a strange impression. It seems like he doesn't fully believe in his own role, although he manages to handle his tasks passably.

Overall, the film failed to maintain the high bar set by the first installment. A slight decline is felt in both the plot and the actors' performances. Despite this, fans of the original should definitely watch it—if only to reunite with the old heroes and find out how their fates unfolded. A worthy, but not perfect, sequel that will please fans of the universe.

Ждать продолжения пришлось несколько столетий — по крайней мере, именно столько времени прошло в сюжете фильма. К сожалению, наша любимая вампирша вернулась на экраны не в лучшей форме: её фирменная ловкость и грация куда-то испарились. Создаётся впечатление, что за прошедшие века она позволила себе расслабиться и перестала оттачивать навыки.

Главный злодей тоже оставляет странное впечатление. Кажется, он сам не до конца верит в свою роль, хотя с поставленной задачей справляется сносно.

В целом, картина не смогла удержать высокую планку, заданную первой частью. Небольшой спад чувствуется и в сюжете, и в игре актёров. Несмотря на это, фанатам оригинала смотреть определённо стоит — если только для того, чтобы встретиться со старыми героями и узнать, как сложилась их судьба. Достойное, но не идеальное продолжение, которое порадует поклонников вселенной.
